A David Starr Jordan Middle School teacher, 33 years old Amy Victoria Beck has been convicted of having relationships of a physical nature with her 14 years old student. What can the parents of their children think when it becomes more and more common for acts of indecent behavior in schools – not by the students, mind you – other than there is something wrong with the system for producing adults that have such obsessions. The news will have shocked many parents who send their children to the David Starr Jordan Middle School and will probably prompt some kind of inquiry into the matter but Amy has turned herself in.

There will be a hearing in the Burbank courts for her conviction in charges of four counts of being engaged in sexual intercourse with a person aged less than sixteen and one count of being involved in oral copulation. The court has decided a bail of four hundred thousand dollars for her and it is unlikely that she will be able to make it, unless she has rich contacts.

Amy Beck used to teach the English language and the subject of Social Studies at the middle school; while the name of the student with whom she was involved with wasn’t given. The board of the school needs to rethink their methods of granting employment under the position of faculty from now on as this incident has definitely sparked a lot of controversy amongst the parents of the students that attend the school. Amy Beck teacher will be no longer serving the school as she gave up her position by resigning after becoming aware of her impending arrest.
