Annise Parker

53-year-old Annise Parker is ready to challenge Gene Locke as a December 10 runoff. With 30% vote, Annise Parker becomes the predicted challenger for City Attorney Gene Locke to be the next Houston Mayor. With 25% vote, Locke remains second whereas the duo ousted Peter Brown with 22% vote.

A Houston (Texas) born politician who assumed her office in the year 2004 (January 2) and who’s currently the Houston City Controller, Annise Parker is playing her cards well and very much predictably the next Houston City Mayor. She’s now left with only one opponent, former City Attorney Gene Locke with 25% vote as compared to her own of 30%.

The Houston Chronicle has already declared the predicted winners’ names based on the reported stats of vote count up to 92%. It says that since Annise Parker and Gene Locke have ousted the third candidate Peter Brown despite his self-financed expenditures of $3.5 million, now the race is between the two. The two will now be facing each other in the forthcoming runoff for the ‘Biggest’ title, the ‘Mayor’ scheduled for December 10, 2009.

It was already been predicted about Annise Parker that with her present support and the confidence reflected form all her moves is quite suggestive of her success as a runoff. It was not possible for City Councilman Peter Brown to continue in the race anymore alongside Roy Morales the Harris County Board of Education Trustee. However, the Roy Morales impact may play a major role when it comes to future support; the stats Roy could obtain off polling still may affect the choice of the final winner.

Parker had announced her candidacy through a video message online. She remained unopposed in her 2005 and 2007 election campaigns and while she’s in her final term, the Houston Mayoral election may be her last milestone, if she wins.
