The Betty White Superbowl commercial gave a whole new meaning to what one would call comic. For those of you who haven’t seen it, you should check it out. Its part of the Snickers campaign for the Superbowl event this year.
In the Betty White Superbowl commercial, a group of young athletes playing football demonstrate how the lack of energy can result in old aged behavior and it might confuse you a bit to see Betty White in the beginning but trust me, that is where all the humor has been piled.
The Betty White Superbowl commercial is a continuation of the initial theme and slogan that Snickers had kept which went on the lines of “Hungry?… Have a snickers.”
While walking down the field, Betty White gets tackled by a football playing youth and the player says “dude, you’re playing like Betty White,” to which Betty White replies “No I am not!” A friend of Betty, who is standing on the sidelines, calls her over and hands her a Snickers which after eating Betty is transformed into a youth again.
All in all it is one of the funnier and more imaginative commercial I have seen. The diverse variety of the adverts that come across on American channels shows the true potential of free media, and this Betty White Superbowl commercial has done its job in promoting Snickers the best it can, in a way that makes everyone laugh and feel good inside. It definitely made me want to have a Snickers.
