Patrolman, Chad Spicer was shot dead and another one, Cpl. Shawn Brittingham was injured last night after a fast food shooting in southern Delaware, Georgetown.
Georgetown Police officer Chad Spicer died after several hours of the incidence, as reported by Wilmington News Journal. At 7.30 PM Spicer and his colleague Shawn Brittingham responded to the shooting happened near McDonald?s Restaurant in the town.
These two police officers were shot fatally while chasing three men in a car that fired out side the fast food restaurant near Kimmey and Rosa Street.
According to Delaware Police spokesman, Bruce Harris, after some time was being chased by city police, those three men got down the car and started running, police officers also gave foot chase. In the meantime, shots were fired by these suspects and both officers were hit.
The police officers were brought to Beebe Hospital in the town where Spicer died due to many wounds on his body, other one is fighting for his life but he is in good condition now.
Chad Spicer was aged 29 years; he joined the Georgetown Police last year. Earlier he was with Bridgeville Police as an officer.
Town police arrested the two suspects right after shooting, whereas, third one is still missing. According to police authorities, he is Christopher Reeves living at Lincoln, Delaware. Georgetown Police have deputed huge manhunt to find out Reeves.
On last Tuesday night, this small town situated in central Sussex County bathed with red and blue fleshing lights. Many citizens in small groups gathered on side streets near road blocks.
The area where this incident took place, police did not abandon people from their homes as yet.
