A teenager from Poway named Chelsea King is reported missing since Thursday and a massive search operation has been launched by the San Diego Police Department. 17-year-old long distance runner never returned to her locked car parked outside Community Park Rancho Bernardo.
According to the details hundreds of deputies from the Sheriff’s office San Diego have been deputed to lookout for a Caucasian blonde girl that has been identified as Chelsea King. The girl in question is a Poway High School student and after her school on Thursday, she informed the friends she plans to go for a routine run.
She certainly went for the run apparently since the vehicle she used i.e. her personal car, was found locked when the police started to search for the girl following an emergency call from the family. Sheriff’s office reported that the family was concerned when King neither reached home nor responded when tried to be approached by cell phone.
The police deputies availed the cell towers’ technology to determine King’s cell phone location that indicated it was somewhere in the West Bernardo Drive Community Park, situated near the Aguamiel Road. The cell phone was located from inside the parked vehicle but girl wasn’t there. With night approaching fast, the deputies and a number of volunteers immediately set up a command center right there at the park.
San Diego County Sheriff further informed that the night search operation was underway on Thursday and the rescuers had the assistance of sheriff office helicopters for air-search while the terrain vehicles are also taking part in operations. Missing girl is reportedly in running jeans and has been described as 5-foot-5.
