Once again Chino prison riot! A riot began at ‘California Institution for Men’ at night around 8:20 p.m. on August 9, 2009. Officials are trying their best to control the worst situation that has already sent a number of inmates to the hospital.
A Chino prison spokesman ‘Lt. Mark Hargrove’ said, “The riot started at Reception Center West facility, a facility where 7 units each of them consists of almost 200 inmates. Initially, the riot started at one unit, but spread quickly.”
Lt. Mark Hargrove also said, “At least one of the units was flamed, while another one was also set on a small fire. A number of inmates who were injured during the riot, were taken to the hospital. While, the other prison facilities have been locked down and the situation is under control over there.”
According to the reports, San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies and Chino Valley firefighters made a collective effort along with Chino police and Ontario police to control the worst situation.
