An intensive search activity was launched on Thursday when a pilot happens to see a massive fire and smoke rising from the sea underneath. He could see nothing but debris and wrecks of what he couldn’t recognize immediately, spread all over the vast sea at around 7:10 p.m. He immediately informed the Coast Guard authorities and Federal Aviation Administration about the incident that occurred about 15 miles in the east of San Clemente Island, Pacific Ocean near California.
Petty Officer Allyson Conroy the Coast Guard spokeswoman informed that the crash between the small C-130 and Marine Corps Cobra helicopter was a severe one and it is feared the chances of survival of least nine persons aboard both the planes are very meek.
The rescuers could only find one person despite intensive search efforts as confirmed by Gregor, the spokesman for Federal Aviation Administration. Seven of the missing were on board on smaller plane C-130 whereas the other two were flying the huge machine called Marine Corps Ah-1 Cobra chopper under the use of U. S. Military.
In response to the accident news, a spokesman from the Marine Corps named Michael Stevens has confirmed that one of their AH-1 Cobras has been reported to encounter a crash this evening. There were no further updates from the Marine Corps, however.
