This was his chance for Dave Rife the owner of White Castle to feature in CBS reality series Undercover Boss. Episode 4 reveals how the owner of a fast-food chain hotel White Castle learns about life as an ordinary low-paid employee in his own conglomerate.

The episode was aired on Sunday February 28, 2010 on CBS and the Member of the Executive Board of famous White Castle Empire joined his employees in disguise to learn what life really means down there in a world of poverty. Dave is the great-grandson of the real founder of this hamburger chain White Castle and none of his low-morale-employees knew the person tumbling on the assembly line of hamburger-buns was actually an extremely high-profiled company executive; their respected Boss.

Dave went to serve along with staff of poorly-managed stores; he also underwent the embarrassments as any undercover should, and then he also learnt it wasn’t an easy job to straighten a cheeseburger line. It was learned that some 4,800 buns were kind ruined by Dave too, being an inexperienced ‘worker.’ Dave is the man that earlier made a statement that he didn’t have time to ‘waste’ on visits to White Castle bakeries!

With his appearance as an undercover boss, Dave became the third in a row high-profile executive of high-repute organizations engaged in food-related businesses thus making it a kind of repetition of previous shows. However, later in the episode the viewers witnessed at least few of the ‘low-grade’ ‘troubled’ employees being backed up by the Boss towards the end of the episode in question. An employee with serious heart attack survivor comes to know about an ‘employee wellness’ company plan.

Similarly one employee named Jose gets a scholarship worth $5,000 to make his dream of attending a culinary school comes true. Another one named Joe also receives a check worth $5,000 for his visually impaired son.
