The legendary veteran New York anchor and broadcaster July 12, 1943 born American Emmy-award winner Ernie Anastos who has a vast experience on his back (more than 30 years) and has got quite a reputation, encountered with a little momentary lapse of reason during a live 10 o’clock news transmission of WNYW/Channel 5 on Sept. 16, 2009.

Anastos who has been an international anchor and reporter for CBS This Morning, CBS Late News as well as ABC Good Morning America co host, got some unsavory reputation while he misspoke (as per his claims in the following night live transmission) during the newscast and left the others shocked and embarrassed, present at the show. During a, what could be called routine and smooth to-the-point conversation, Anastos dropped the f-bomb quite frequently and it had great effect at anchor Dari Alexander specially. Her abrupt reaction is very much evident in the video.

Well, the video of the proclaimed ‘Mistake’ took only seconds to circulate and before the viewers could listen Anastos apologizing in the late night live transmission, the impact associated with the incident was deep enough already. Lew Leone, the vice president – general manager WNYW, expressed his disillusion by saying he’s “disappointed in Anastos’ comment.”

However, the new verdict about the Anastos’ statement has appeared very recently that reads Anastos actually wished to say “Keep plucking that chicken” but he created the ‘catch phrase’ instead and was caught off guard. So, believingly it was the word ‘plucking’ the anchor meant to use even if he didn’t.
