Ger ready to face the consequences of your controversial outburst against the most powerful man of USA, Mr. Glenn! He might have not foresighted the media or public reaction otherwise, on July 28 on “Fox and Friends” episode, Glenn Beck would have wiped off his forehead prior to such comments.
Beck is back on job on Monday after availing vacations and the first news welcomed him was that the Channel Fox is deprived of over one dozen loyal advertisers, as the first reaction of some racial comments against President Barack Obama by him, before proceeding on leave. Reports say that around 33 advertisers including some big names like CVS Caremark, Clorox, Wal-Mart Stores Inc., and Sprint, have made it very clear that their commercials will not be aired on Glenn Beck’s show.
ColorofChange.org, blacks’ political action promoters, is on to an abandonment campaign against this particular show. The Clorox Company has gone very cautious. They say they do not wish to be associated with either liberal or conservative talk show hosts’ inflammatory speeches. Some other company engaged in household cleaning and bleaching business say, they do not wish to advertise on political talk shows.
Honestly speaking, the advertisers and sponsors love to serve in a safer and friendly atmosphere or environment instead of TV or Talk Shows where there is always a chance that their hosts may arouse anger or disliking among their viewers. Or take it this way that they prefer more opinionated and kind bound-to-limits programs.
Apparently this halt of buying ads on Mr. Beck’s show or Fox Channel, seems temporary and the things may settle soon but not in the present scenario where Mr. Beck has not come up with any apology yet. The advertisers’ reaction is an indication that this is just the beginning.
