Hassan Nemazee, top political donor in USA, arrested for defraud attempt with Citigroup ($74 million scam). Hassan Nemazee, a multimillionaire, Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign’s Chairman, is also a major fundraiser for Democrats.

On August 25th, 2009 an Iranian-American Investment Banker, Hassan Nemazee was arrested. His arrest was made on the grounds that he fraudulently applied for a loan of over $74 million from Citigroup. Hassan is a Washington, D.C. born (January 27, 1950), a 1968 Harvard University graduate, who has not returned to his homeland since his and his family’s properties were seized by the new government after the Iranian Revolution.

The Chairman of Nemazee Capital has been investing in Health Care, Media, Oil & Gas, Asset Management, Newspapers, Development, Technology, Insurance Investment Banking and Communications etc since 1987. He became a part of the Financial Services Industry by creating Nemazee Holdings (1970’s). His joint venture with Morgan Guaranty Trust Company added a lot to his ever-increasing powers.

Politically a very strong man who stands among top political donors in the USA, has been John Kerry’s supporter and a campaign contributor as well asDemocrat Senatorial Campaign Committee’s National Finance Chairman. Fundraising has been another identity for the man as Chuck Schumer’s campaign obtained $115 million fund amounts due to Hassan’s influence. A nominated U.S. Ambassador to Argentina by Bill Clinton donated an amount of $50,000 for Obama’s PIC too.

The question is why such an influential, philanthropic by nature, fortune-maker, extremely wealthy person would go for a $74 million scam that clearly involves almost 30 years imprisonment penalty if imposed upon him? The 59-year-old Hassan has been alleged to provide false loan documents as well as fake and references. His attorney Marc Mukasey only said that we are reviewing the allegations so no further comments.
