“All My Children” fame star James Mitchell died at the age of 89 in a hospital located in Los Angeles on January 22, 2010. He was a superb dancer as well as a unique American actor. James Mitchell performed in a show called “All My Children” in which his screen name was “Palmer Cortlandt.” James Mitchell’s play “All My Children” remained on the screen from 1979 to 2009. Television viewers recognize him as “Palmer Cortlandt.”
James Mitchell was born on February 29, 1920 in Sacramento, California. Mitchell James parents came to America after migrating from England and established a fruit farm. In the year of 1923, his mother left his father and went back to England with James Mitchell’s sister and brother. James Mitchell’s father remarried after the death of Mitchell’s mother. His father left his sister in England and brought his two sons to Turlock. James Mitchell had been remained closer to the Kings in Los Angeles since when he was 17 years old.
He started his professional showbiz career from the Ballet Theater in America and he earned numerous awards for his performance. In the earlier days of this month, James Mitchell appeared in the 40th anniversary of “All My Children,” it was his last appearance on the television screen. He was expert at playing villain and some other musical instruments.
It has also been reported that James Mitchell suffered heart disease for many years; he has been died after suffering “Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease” which was convoluted by pneumonia. Albert Wolsky has confirmed James Mitchell’s death and stated that the memorial services will be held but there is no decided date announced yet.
