FOX news claims James Ready was arrested in presence of Barney Frank in August 2007. Congressman Barney Frank was right there with James Ready when a marijuana arrest occurred. Upon payment of fine, the businessman was released in 2008.
While talking to the Fox 25 on Friday November 6, 2009 United States House Representative since 1981 for Massachusetts’s fourth congressional district Barney Frank disclosed rather admitted a fact; At the time of his ‘partner’ James “Jim” Ready’s arrest way back in the year 2007, the congressman was sitting alongside James in the porch of his home at Maine (Ogunquit).
Further in the Friday sitting, the Democrat added that although the arrest was made upon a word about possession of Marijuana by James Ready but he didn’t know at all that his friend and partner ever had marijuana plants. Police, however, held James Ready only whereas Frank was not charged even in subsequent proceedings.
The latest update on the issue is that MyFoxBoston claims to have obtained a police report that describes James Ready was arrested and charged by the Main police officials with possession as well as cultivation and use of marijuana alongside other drug paraphernalia and later pleaded guilty. However, later all other charges were removed and James was released upon payment of fine within one year of his arrest in 2008.
Frank Barney has been playing his role to support the bipartisan Hinchey-Rohrabacher amendment in association with the prohibition of the United States Department of Justice for the prosecution against the medical marijuana patients. Barney also wrote the States’ Rights to Medical Marijuana Act (H.R. 2592).
