Jameshia Conner

The lifeless body of 12-year-old Jameshia Conner found after two weeks. Jameshia Conner went missing on November 15, when last seen aboard a CTA bus, by her aunt. The parents of the victim accuse the police of investigating in wrong directions.

The Washington Police Department is not willing to take any blames on it either by the parents or by the media that rather further encouraged the parents. According to a report published in the ‘Trib,’ a prompt missing person investigation was launched by the police detectives as soon as they received the call at 5 p.m.

On the other hand, the ‘Sun-Times’ targeted the police and wrote that the police didn’t consider the news of a missing girl worth ‘priority’ due to her age, may be. Though the parents of Jameshia were reportedly very upset and blamed the police to have handled the issue in wrong way, yet there was a statement by Kawanis Conner, the victim’s father wherein he expressed his gratitude towards the efforts made by the police! Strange, isn’t it?

In the first place the police had considered it a runaway but later when the dead girl was found in the 6400 block of South Marshfield Avenue in the alley, the parents regretted that she could have been alive had the police figured it out correctly.

The teen was last seen by one of her aunts on the Sunday night November 15, getting on board a CTA bus. Initially her mother thought she had stayed at her aunt but when she didn’t return till even 3 a.m. and neither reached school on 16th Nov. it made her mother worried and the family approached the police.

Finally her body was discovered in the alley by a man who was walking in the area alongside his young daughter. The Cook County medical examiner’s office declared that the cause of her death was strangulation. A press conference has been scheduled for December 8, 2009 to reveal the details. However, no suspect found yet therefore no arrest made either.
