Janeane Garofalo, an American stand-up comedian was born as Jane Anne Garofalo on September 28, 1964 in Newton, New Jersey, United States. She is a well known actress, writer, political activist and had been the co-host on Air America Radio’s “The Majority Report.”
She started officially her career in stand-up comedy in the late 1980s. Her popularity in comedy gave her enough respect and admiration from people, and she was selected as #99 on Comedy Central’s list of the 100 greatest standups of all time in April 2004. In 1992, “The Ben Stiller Show” on Fox was her debut regarding television roles. After that she got a role in “The Larry Sanders Show” on HBO as Paula which earned her two times Emmy Award nomination, in 1996 and in 1997.
She has appeared in a number of films such as, “Late for Dinner” in 1991, “That’s What Women Want” in 1992, “I Shot a Man in Vegas” in 1995, “Sweethearts” in 1996, “Touch” in 1997, “Permanent Midnight” in 1998, “The Bumblebee Flies Anyway” in 1999, “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle” in 2000, “Southland Tales” in 2005 and “Girl’s Best Friend” in 2008. Regarding her television appearances, she worked in “The Tom Green Show,” “The Henry Rollins Show,” “Saturday Night Live, NBC,” “Now with Bill Moyers, PBS,” “The King of Queens, CBS,” “Hannity & Colmes, Fox News” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live, ABC.”
