Another shooter Jason Rodriguez spreads chaos at an Orlando Engineering Firm on Friday. Police arrested 40-year-old Jason Rodriquez for killing one and wounding at least five when he opened fires near Legions Place office building, Orlando on November 6, 2009.

Fort Hood shooting on Thursday November 5, is followed by yet another shooting spree wherein a frustrated unemployed person identified as 40-year-old Jason Rodriguez tried his shooting skills on several people. The shooter has been arrested and is in the police custody.

According to the details, on Friday November 6, Jason Rodriguez surrendered to the police officials at a house (a two-story apartment) while the police chased him few hours later, following a shooting scene downtown. The house is a rented one (by his mother) and Jason has been reported moved in there some two months ago.

Some three hours before his arrest, Jason Rodriguez was at an Orlando engineering firm’s office near the Legions Place Florida where he opened fires on several persons nearby, wounding at least five while killing one right on the spot. Jason has been reported unemployed for the last two or more years and the people he tried to shoot, all belonged to the same firm where he got fired from.

After his arrest, some of the neighbors remarked about Jason that he seldom said anything and most of the time remained silent with blank stares. They described him as a person with impassive and strange behavior who simply wandered the empty parking lots at times.

Upon enquiring as to why he did all this, Jason replied to one of the reporters, ‘my employer had left me to rot.’ A typical reply from an unemployed and troubled person! Orlando Police Chief Val Demings confirmed happily that there was only one fatal casualty. However, according to the Orlando Sentinel in June 2007 (the period Jason was fired from Reynolds Smith and Hills), Orange County sheriff had delivered him for a mental health evaluation.
