Kathryn Grayson, who was a famous film actress and singer, has died at the age of 88 in Los Angeles. This is sad news for her friends, family and fans that a fabulous actress who performed superb role in “Show Boat” and “Kiss Me Kate” is no more on the planet. Kathryn Grayson was indeed a nice actress who earned a great fame in the showbiz globe. It has been reported that Kathryn Grayson died on Wednesday at her home in Los Angeles.
Kathryn Grayson was born on 9th February 1922 at Winston Salem in North Carolina. She was a nice American film star and special operatic soprano vocalist of her time. She was a good opera songster when she was just twelve years old. She made a contract with MGM and set up a career in movies in the start of 1940s. In 1951, she got a lead role in a movie “Show Boat” and also performed a lead role in another movie “Kiss Me Kate” in 1953. Before having lead role, Kathryn Grayson performed various supporting roles in different musical films. She also performed her natural acting guts in other films and was starred as pair actress with Mario Lanza and Howard Keel.
Kathryn Grayson also worked in theaters and she was one of the performers in most successful and popular musical theater show “Camelot” from 1962 to 1964. She appeared in various operas like “La Traviata,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Orpheus in the Underworld” and “La Boheme.”
At first she married to a Hollywood star John Shelton then later she married another Hollywood singer and actor Johnnie Johnston. Both of her marriages came to an end in divorces. She produced her single and only daughter Patricia Kathryn Johnston who was born on 7th October 1948.
