She arrived at Disney World over the past week, hoping to get a chance to have a closer look at her favorite Florida Gators’ fan favorite Timothy Richard “Tim” Tebow; coincidently, 22-year-old quarterback turned out to be her date too! After meeting on Wednesday, Tim decided a treat for his fans.
When Tim walked through the red carpet before the Home Depot ESPNU College Football Awards show on the night of Thursday, he wasn’t alone; Kelly Faughnan accompanied with hands in hands. “It was an opportunity for us to meet and hangout,” explained Tim. He further added that since she agreed to the proposal of joining him on the red carpet, they had the fun then.
Faughnan lives in Clifton, Va., and as per her father Jim, she happens to be a great admirer of Tim Tebow from the day he joined the Florida Gators. Just before the Thanksgiving in 2008, Kelly was diagnosed with a brain tumor; however, the same was removed just before Christmas. Kelly had asked Jim prior to the major surgery whether she could visit Disney World as well as college football awards show to just see Tebow this year.
While the teammates had gathered to attend a function in Disney on Wednesday, Kelly was also there wearing a shirt that had “I love Timmy Button” written on it. Tim noticed it and talked to her and that was it, Kelly’s dream had come true to meet Tim but with a little difference; now she was his date.
