Four police officers lost their lives in a Lakewood shooting spree that has been reported a target killing. On 8 a.m. Sunday morning, an unidentified person entered a coffee shop and gunned down 4 police officers while the rest of people inside the shop remained safe and unharmed.
According to Ed Troyer Sheriff’s Department spokesman, on Sunday four police officers were sitting in Forza coffee shop in a strip mall right next to McChord Air Force Base, located some 40 miles south of Seattle. The group comprised of three male officers and one female and they were sitting there prior to reporting on their shifts. All of them wore uniforms and all were fully equipped with official weapons.
Since they were busy talking and enjoying morning gossip, none could notice a man entering the coffee shop and aiming at them. Before anyone could reach for a weapon, all were gunned down in a flash. The killer just walked out of the premises whiles the rest watching, horrified. The victims belonged to Lakewood Police Department Washington.
The authorities confirmed that the cold blooded killer used a pistol to accomplish the task that certainly appears to be a target-killing. The rest of the customers or the coffee shop employees remained unhurt as they were never aimed at by the shooter.
The coffee shop belonged to Brad Carpenter who also used to be a police officer. It would have remained fairly easy for the killer to locate his ‘targets’ as all the police vehicles were parked outside the coffee shop. Though all the witnesses were shocked to even speak yet some of them described the killer as a black man of round 20 with medium height, dressed in a black jacket and a pair of blue jeans.
The whole Seattle area was under a strict surveillance for the shooter with precautionary warnings for the residents to be watchful.
