The episode that focused on the life of Shiloh Pepin, was re-aired today. Shiloh Pepin was girl born with conjoined pair of legs called a mermaid tail.
Pepin made headlines many times in her little stay in this world since the day she was born. She was in the media news when born with a rare disease called ‘Sirenomelia.’ She was in news again when first appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show to express her views about the life she lived, full of obstacles and challenges yet beautiful.
And finally she made headlines again on October 23 when she joined where she belonged to, the heavens. Her mother used to call her a ‘little tough thing’ and how right she was. Despite the doctors’ prediction of a really short possible life due to her rare disease and complications, she fought and died though but not before grabbing ten years of her share from this world.
Talking to the host Oprah Winfrey Pepin had said that nothing is impossible, she could have been just all other normal kids too had God wished her to be. The brave girl added that she doesn’t know what to become when grown up since with the complications and limitations she had, it was a hard decision yet. However, an actress or a princess would be her best choices among many.
The positive and inspired attitude of little Pepin that carried the rare disease since she was in the womb of her mother, should always be a beacon for others. Kids born with Sirenomelia also known as “Mermaid Syndrome”, normally live a very short life. RIP baby!
