Nate Burleson

News from football arenas confirms that Nate Burleson has now become a former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver. The Detroit Lions have reportedly offered the 28-year-old footballer a five-year pact worth $25 million and the same took place on Friday, March 05, 2010.

American wide receiver and 2003 NFL Draft from Calgary Alberta, Canada Nathaniel Burleson that joined the Seattle Seahawks in the year 2006 after serving the Minnesota Vikings from 2003 to 2005, has got new avenues. The Seahawks had made a bold move when they had traded Nate Burleson over Steve Hutchinson while in 2006 but the move didn’t pay off well.

The first major move on the Friday morning in the NFL free agents-market was made by the Detroit Lions when they announced that Nate Burleson has agreed upon their offer and signed the pact. Money seems to be no problem for the wide receiver then since the Seahawks owe him guaranteed money worth $11 million too. During his overall career for Nate i.e. seven years, he holds a record season with 1,000 yards thus making the Lions think about him.

This has been learned that the Lions are also in contact with the defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch of Tennessee Titans and there was a late-night knock at his door as well. As far as Lions’ progress over the past two years is concerned; the team needs some spark since there were only two wins for the Lions last year.

Induction of Burleson in the Lions’ lineup would only shed pressure off shoulders of Matt Stafford the team’s quarterback as well as wide receiver Calvin Johnson therefore; a lot would be expected from Burleson this year; after all, they’re paying him a hell lot of money too.
