The battle of a warier called “The Mighty,” is finally over. Noah Bailey Dowell, an 8-year-old cute child fought his heart out against Brain Tumor for over 2 years. Noah Bailey Dowell was ill since the age 5 and ultimately, the 2007 diagnosis of brain tumor proved fatal and Noah passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2009.
Although Noah Bailey Dowell suffered with illness when he was only 5-year-old and was ultimately admitted at Children’s Hospital Orange County where in the year 2007, it was diagnosed that he was actually suffering from a very rare form of brain cancer. Noah’s condition and the stage of malignant tumor suggested that he had hardly 9 or 10 month life to enjoy; and so it was.
However, the non-stop day-night prayers of Mary Dowell the mother of the brave kid and medication & treatment, added a few more months and Noah survived for over a year than doctors’ expectations, but how long? The one, who was master at making the people around him always happy, finally gave in.
According to Mary, the family thought Noah’s got some kind of stomach flu as he was very sick to his stomach but everyone got worried when later Noah started losing body balance. Immediately a CAT scan was carried out and the results suggested taking him to Children Hospital Orange County (CHOC).
Mary Dowell unveiled an interesting factor behind his nickname ‘The Mighty’ and briefed that while she was pregnant with Noah, she dreamt that Noah asked her to call him “Milton.” Later after learning his extra-love for milk, the whole family used to call him “The Mighty Milty Moomoo.” She further added that, “Drinking a whole gallon of milk was no big deal for him.”
During his illness and especially after the diagnosis, his nickname derived a new significance and everybody around started calling him “The Mighty” as it really required you to be extraordinarily mighty and strong to fight something called brain tumor.
The kid’s favorite sports was baseball and even he was already extremely sick, his last shot with the bat earned him a home run, informed the coach Larry Long. Those were the last cheers for him as he couldn’t enter the playing area after that.
