Norah Jones, an American singer-songwriter full name Geethali Norah Jones Shankar basically Bengali was born March 30, 1979 in Brooklyn, New York. Besides singing she is a pianist, keyboardist, guitarist and occasional actress of Anglo-American and Indian-Bengali descent. She is the daughter of famous sitarist Ravi Shankar and is the half-sister of Anoushka Shankar.
She started her career with launching her debut album “Come Away with Me” in 2002. 25 million copies of this album were sold worldwide and it received five Grammy Awards. After that her second album “Feels Like Home” was launched in 2004. She released her third album “Not Too Late” in 2007.
She also appeared in some movies such as “Two Weeks Notice” in 2002, in 2004 special “Sesame Street Presents: The Street We Live On,” in 2007 “My Blueberry Nights” and also she wrote a song for this movie, in 2008 “Life, Support, Music.”
