A masterpiece by Norman Rockwell appearing on the Saturday Evening Post on its cover page in April 1926, has been honored by Google Inc. Regular visitors must have noticed the new masterly crafted Google Doodle using the above mentioned painting dubbed as ‘Little Spooners.’
This has been a wonderful effort on part of Google Inc to acknowledge the services of great personalities from all walks of life by changing Google Doodle signs accordingly. This practice is carried out by the Google people over the past few months, on regular basis now.
Even last month, the viewers must have also noticed the animated Google Doodle wherein an apple was shown falling from a tree above. The effort was to remind the search engine users the birthday of great past personality Sir Isaac Newton. The idea, indeed, is an appreciable one the way Google commemorates the Internet users about past events and great personalities.
On this day today i.e. February 3, great American painter Norman Percevel Rockwell was born in 1894 and the animated Doodle for the day is with reference to the same date. The painting “Little Spooners” by one among the best illustrators of all times Norman Percevel Rockwell featured two small kids intently watching the setting sun while arms in arms.
Norman was associated with the popular magazine ‘The Saturday Evening Post’ for which, he illustrated and painted number of scenarios from routine and everyday life for nearly 40 years or even more. Today’s Google Doodle thus reminds us all about the great works of the great artist that also produced many other masterpieces.
