Peter Graves

So sad to report that following a heart attack, Peter Graves has passed away on March 14, 2010. The news of 83-year-old actor’s death arrived through his business manager when after a Sunday brunch with family at Pacific Palisades family home; Peter Graves collapsed though his daughter attempted to revive him.

Fred Barman informed the media that the death occurred at the family’s California home and since the death was due to natural causes, the Los Angeles police officials didn’t require investigating the same and believing that there’s no foul play involved. However, it has not been learnt whether the actor suffered with illness of any kind lately.

Business manager further confirmed that one of his three daughters tried to somehow revive her father but Peter Aurness known as Peter Graves didn’t make it and died. Many of his fans recognized him through a 1960s famous television series Mission: Impossible that was aired between the years 1967 to 1973. He played the ‘Cool Spymaster – Mr. Phelps’ in MI while gained lot of fame through “Biography” series as its dignified host.

Peter Graves also appeared in “Airplane!” movie and for his deadpan line in the same made him a teen’s hero since the younger audiences were more inspired with this particular character. Minneapolis born Peter Graves is the younger brother of an icon in Hollywood James Arness that made an identity of his own too, especially in ‘Gunsmoke.’

In “Stalag 17,” Graves portrayed a Nazi mole and following that, he appeared in many crime and westerns movie characters. A television series ‘Fury’ had made him a TV regular while in 1955. The veteran reappeared in Mission: Impossible back in 1988 and remained with the same till 1990.
