David Letterman made a public apology to Regina Lasko last year, his longtime girlfriend and now his wife since 19 March, 2009. On Tuesday, March 9, 2010, the main character Robert “Joe” Halderman, pleaded guilty that forced David Letterman apologize his wife by exposing his love affairs with staffers.

The life of 62-year-old American television personality that has the second longest hosting career ever after his mentor and fast friend Johnny Carson has been marred with many long-term relationships with a number of females. Known as David Michael Letterman and recognized as late night television host of talk show ‘Late Show with David Letterman,’ is recently married to Regina Lasko.

Regina and Letterman had dated for as many as 20 years until they got married in a Choteau Montana courthouse on 19 March, 2009 while in a quite civil marriage ceremony. Their only child together, a son was born in the year 2003 named Harry. The marriage was announced 0n March 23, 2009 by David Letterman while during the taping of his show.

In the month of October same year, the host was forced to make an apology to Regina following an extortion attempt by a jealous TV producer that exposed some dirty secrets of David Letterman. Letterman admitted that his acts and sex scandals involving women around his workplace must have horribly hurt Regina thus he apologized for his behavior publicly following his breaking the scandalous news himself.

52-year-old former producer Robert Joe Halderman at CBS’ 48 Hours Mystery finally unveiled that he was the character behind the blackmail drama demanding $2 million from David Letterman. He confessed that his effort was to extract vengeance in order to grab some money thus; he threatened Letterman to either pay or he’ll destroy his reputation by publicizing all his dalliances with workplace females. His source of information is believed to be a diary of a former girlfriend of Letterman.

R.J. Halderman faces six-month jail sentence alongside 1,000 community service hours.

Halderman is expected to get a six-month jail sentence and 1,000 hours of community service. He submitted an apology to David Letterman too while in the Manhattan court.
