Ryan Miller has been honored to represent the U.S. men’s ice hockey team’s goalie and what a night he had on Sunday at the Vancouver Olympics. NHL star from Buffalo Sabres 29-year-old Ryan Miller stood like a wall against the Canadian attack and earned his country a fabulous victory.
Everyone is talking about this hero since the Sunday night’s thrilling victory by the United States of America over the proud Canadian nation whereby the U.S. finished the game at 5-3 to qualify for the men’s hockey quarterfinals. It was Ryan Miller that didn’t let his team down and didn’t waste the hard work done by Brian, Drury and Jamie.
During their hard struggle for 60 long minutes, the Canadians could only manage to beat this rock solid goalie on just three occasions otherwise; there were amazing 42 saves from Miller out of a total 45 numbers shots attempted by the best-ever Canadian stars.
Known for his hybrid manner of goaltending, Millar was chosen by the U.S. sporting authorities to represent the country in the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games. What he did against the star-studded Canadian pride, proved his choice worth it and the older brother of Drew Miller the winger with the Detroit Red Wings, has all the right to walk with head high.
The Canadians would be seen frustrated whenever their efforts were dismissed by Miller through a solid defense though they played inexorably high-spirited game. They tried slap shots, they tested him with wrist shots, and even they struck their bodies against Miller but nothing doing. The only hope for the Canadian left is their crunch game against arch rivals Germany that’s scheduled for upcoming Tuesday.
