Things are really looking up for the seasoned and talented Steve Novak at the moment as he finds himself getting accustomed to the ambience of his newly gifted office after he was announced to have become the Boston College’s very grand Assistant Director for Athletics & Development.

In his new role as the Assistant Director for Athletics & Development, he will be directly reporting to his new boss; Gene DeFilippo, the man serving as the Athletic Director at Boston College right now. In fact, the news about the promotion bestowed on to Steve Novak was also made public by Gene DeFilippo.

It has taken a long and enduring nine years for Novak to get to where he is today, ever since he came to Boston College to serve his internship tenure. In less than thirty days after Jim Paquette left Boston College to join Loyola University as the latter’s Athletic Director; Novak was brought in to fill the void left by Jim. And considering his experience in the roles of Associate Dir of Development and Development Assistant, Novak seemed to be the very obvious and right choice for DeFilippo to pick.

And Gene DeFilippo was neither shy nor hesitant to voice those sentiments as he made the announcement when he recognized Steve Novak for his contributions towards Boston College’s Athletic Department. Novak accepted the honor humbly and said that he was overwhelmed by the decision and that he would work to further strengthen the athletics & development system at Boston College.
