For the music lovers the news is that SWV or ‘Sisters With Voices’ trio of 1990 is bringing a fun package for them. The female American R&B trio comprising of Cheryl Gamble, Leanne Lyons and Tamara Johnson, has announced that in 2010, fifth of trio’s studio album is going to be released.

Who knew that the band SWV founded by Leanne Lyons in collaboration with two of her friends Cheryl Gamble and Tamara Johnson, would win so much appreciation and public response? Today, the band is holding No. 100 rank on the “Top 500 Pop Artists of the Past 25.” The purpose of releasing the studio album in question is to provide an opportunity to those who missed their masterpieces while played on the radio, live.

There were times when in order to pursue their individual solo projects, the band members split in the year 1999 but much to the delight of its fans, the group realized that together they were ‘safe’ thus, they joined hands yet again in the year 2005. After their reunion, the trio members appeared at the 2008 BET Awards’ event in 2008 and the fans were thrilled. The group performed alongside Alicia Keys and the crowd loved every bit of their lively display.

There are hundreds of thousands of hits the trio has produced over the years but some particular stuff such as “I’m So Into You,” or “Weak” etc have earned the female band an identity of their own. A 1992 release for instance, ‘Right Here’ first single by SWV grabbed 16th spot on R&B Charts followed by “I’m So Into You,’ reaching at No. 2 spot. And finally the trio grabbed the No. 1 position on the charts with release of their third single “Weak.”
