Plant Cell (Part One)
Since all the physiological phenomena take place inside a living plant cell, it may rightly be designated as the fundamental unit of plant physiology or the basic functional unit of a plant. In order to obtain a clear and precise comprehension of the life processes of a plant, therefore, the structure of a plant cell must be reviewed.
A plant cell comprises four main parts, i.e., cell wall, plasma membrane (plasmalemma), cytoplasm and nucleus.
