Thomas Crapper day is celebrated on 27th of January every year. We have been hearing the rumor that Thomas Crapper was the person who invented the flush system in the toilet. There is a big tale behind the Thomas Crapper Day and the invention of toilet system. But some sources have also been reporting that Thomas Crapper did not invent the toilet system. According to fresh information, Thomas Crapper was a plumber who was died on January 27, 1910.
It has been verified that toilet was invented before his death in 1910, there is no confirmation that when Thomas Crapper was born but Thomas Crapper was baptized in the year of 1836. It was John Harrington who invented the flushing toilets in the year of 1596. In the year of 1778, Joseph Bramah who was a native of Yorkshire, England, patented the first realistic water closet in England. In 1852, Edward Jennings took a patent of the flush toilet after the Joseph Bramah.
People have been going to celebrate the Thomas Crapper day instead of celebrating John Harrington day because he was the real person who invented the toilet system. In 1880s, Thomas Crapper was the owner of Thomas Crapper & Company. Princess Edward ordered him to prepare thirty lavatories with seats manufactured with cedar wood for his domestic use.
Thomas Crapper was the holder of more than nine patents and out that nine patents there were three patents for water closet. No doubt Thomas Crapper worked for toilet improvements but he was not the inventor of the toilet system. He really worked quite nicely to modernize the toilet system.
