A traditional ticker tape parade 2009 awaits the winners of 2009 World Series on Friday. New York Yankees will now celebrate a ticker tape parade in Broadway. The city Mayor Michael Bloomberg promises it to be the largest-ever parade.
The New York Yankees become the winner of a World Series title for 27th time last night November 5, 2009 while defeating Philadelphia Phillies 7-3 in game 6 at Time Square, Bronx. The Yankees won the series after as may as 9 years as they last won in the year 2000. Through out the last night, Hideki Matsui and Andy Pettitte would be seen all over the place and the duo along with Mariano Rivera, shined and played key role in the glorious and famous Yankees’ victory.
The next celebration for the overjoyed Yankees is scheduled for Friday morning. As per earlier announcement by the New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg on the gracious occasion of an anticipated win, there will be a largest-ever traditional ticker parade for the year 2009 that will begin at 11 a.m. from Broadway at Battery Place and will make it way through the Canyon of Heroes up to Chamber Street. The last event would be the presentation of the keys to the city to winners by Bloomberg.
All the New Yorkers would be anxiously awaiting the colorful event of ticker parade as it’s expected there would hundreds of thousands of people in the streets and on the way throwing pieces of colorful paper stuff and congratulating their heroes till their final destination. The stats tell that $331,000 expenses were incurred in 2008 ticker parade when the Super Bowl won. Let’s now wait and see what happens on Friday.
